the Latin word is present in almost all modern languages for mentioning
a person.
I am interested in which are the inherited reflexes of Latin "ipsum" in
the actual Romance languages.
The Rom. reflex of it is "ins" with the change ps > ns .
The change ps > ns is not explained as such, but one jsut assumed "ps" >
"s", then there was a nasal infixion there, thus ipsum > *isu > insu >
ins.
The forms "dânsul/dânsa" (this person there)is explained as de+însul ;
"însul" should be a rare or ancient form of "ins".
