My first thought was that Eng. 'pussy' isn't too dissimilar.
Then checking Buck's "Synonyms", he has "Rum. 'pisica', deriv.
of 'pis' a call-word for cats similar to Lith. 'puz', LG 'puus',
Du. 'poes', NE 'puss'.
Finally, I experimented and found 'pis' only works with a bit of
food.
