OK, thank you. In this case there are two posibilities: substratual
language of Rom. handled PIE *ai/*oi reducing them to "a" or "aprig" is
not cognate with "eifrig". The curiosity remains that the German
linguists hesited to give the simply *aibhros as etymology, prefering to
say "Herkunft liegt im Dunkel."
