1. Iulia Bessa is a personal name (of course related to her
ethnical or regional name ... Bessi, located at the Danube river)
attested in an inscription at Ulpia Traiana...
As I know Bessi's land wasn't neither at Ulpia Traiana where Iulia
Bessa is attested or in today Albania so the person "Iulia Bessa" is
attested OUTSIDE the Bessi's land.
Seems that you have a problem with this attestation, that doesn't
fit with your idea : on the "inexistent substratum", but for sure is
a real argument against your thoughts...
2. Regarding the use of ethnical or regional name (in Dacia and
not only ) as personal names (like today in Romanian : Moldovean,
Turdean, Ardelean), even if the names are "given or not but the
foreigner" : we can find in Dacia personal names that contains the
name "Daciscus" , here are 2 of them :
Publius Aelius Dacianus, NAPOCA, CIL, III 867
Iul(ius) Daciscus, DROBETA, Dacia, VII-VIII, 1937-1940, 353
so your argument that cannot be possible to use the
ethnical/regional mark in the personal name formation (in addition in
Iulia Bessa case - we are outside of "Bessi"'s territory) is not true
of all.
3. albanian word : besa is very probable related to the meaning
of the tribe name "Bessi" : Why ?
We have a similar example with alb. karpe: => tribe Carpi...
So your argument that the albanian today word cannot be
related "in general" to the name of a tribe ...is not valid.
Of course that Albanians don't think at the Bessi tribe when they
put the names Besa, Besiana to their children: if this you have tried
to explain us , you are right ...
4. Mr. Iacomi, please put your arguments on the table, and give us
your own explanations for the items in question :
Are the following words "daco-thracian" ?
"Bessa" - personal name attested at Ulpia Traiana
"Aizisis" - attested in Banat
"Adzizio" - attested in today Albania
Of course, as a "real linguist" ("not like Vasile P^arvan that
wasn't a great linguist")...you will do this better than him...
Please also give us your etymology of the Albanian names in
discussion...
