For the question I have had I searched a bit by myself and found out as
follow for "goose" versus "yawn"(OE ganian):
Greek: "che:n" versus "chaskein"
Latin: "anser" versus "hiscere" or "hiare"
Indic: "ham'sa-h" versus ?
Russian ? versus "zijat' "
English: "goose" versus OE "ganian"
Rom. "gâscã" versus "cãsca"
1)I know there is immediately the question of why comparing in Rom. a
word which begin with "g" with an word which begin with "k":-)
2) I am not sure if Albanian "gogësin" (to yawn) belongs here too. For
goose it seems Alb. has no reflex of the IE *g^han-or I could not find
it out
Question for Slavic:
If Slavic form for Russian "zijat" is "z^ansera"(*gensera) then how does
one has an Slavic *go~sI" for "goose"?Is this not in fact a loan from
Germanic with Slavic change of /a/>/o/ (gans > go~Si) ?
