We've come a full *kWekWlos. How else do you think could *kW be treated
in a non-palatalising environment? The development is different only
before front vowels! The pereceding nasal has nothing to do with it! In
case you still haven't got it, *kW and *gW(H) give Alb. /s/ and /z/,
respectively, when originally followed by *e, *i, or *j (e.g. *kWelh1- >
sjell). Otherwise they simply merge with the reflexes of *k and *g(H),
as in <pjek> < *pekW-o:, <ujk> < *wl.kWos .
