Plutarch in his Life of Caesar says:
« For he was a spare man, had a soft and white skin, was distempered
in the head and subject to an epilepsy, which, it is said, first
seized him at Corduba»

I'll agree that being spare (skinny) is more a mediterranean trait
than a nordic or alpine one. But he's said to also be taller than the
average Roman in other accounts.
By the way, how can you tell he was mediterranean and darker skinned
if the surviving statues have no color any longer?
