So far I know the Orthodox Church did not persecuted in that way the
heretics as we know it from the Catolic Churc (inquisition & stuff). I
am aware about the problems in the VI-VIII century in the so-called
"iconoclasts" persecutions but that was before the Church split took
place and it seems there have been not specialy punishments against
"heretics" but more , a way (and wars) for imposing a certain rule of
how the Christianity has to be lead out.
As for Slavic "drag", I would like to see too the root it does derive
from and which is the relationship/derivatives within the Slavic family.
