Dear Alex,
My opinion is that Alb. verb <ngjeth> is deriving from PIE root *kaH-
id- 'to strike'. Indeed, it's prefixed form *n-kaH-id- > ngeth >
ngjeth, which base root *kaH-id- derives also <qeth> 'to cut,
subject: hair, wool of the sheep'.
Expressions like: M'u ngjeth shtati or M'u ngjethën mishtë can be
translated into English as to give creeps to smb.
