To the root *pleh1ik- I guess is related also Alb. <plis> 'clod of
earth, sod, piece of turf; shag, wollen cap' (*e(h1)i>i and *k>s)
and, according to Pokorny's IWB, plas 'to burst, to break out',
<plasë> 'crack, chap', pëlcas, aor. plasa 'to explode, to detonate',
all from PIE *ple:k^- or *pl@...^-. To me, here belongs too verb
<përplas> 'to hit, to strike', plasarit/em 'to crack, to chap (the
skin, etc.)', extendit in suffix -ar.
