Yes, and it is the most frequent reflex of PIE [r.] in Slavic.

I'd have to look it up. In Poland, at any rate, the traditional unit of
measurement was called <pre,t> 'rod' (< *pro~tU) = 7 ells (<l/okiec'>
'elbow'), I think. The meanings of <pre,t> and <z.erdz'> overlap, though
I don't recall having ever come across <z.erdz'> as a unit of length.
