Hm... (That's almost my region, but I've never heard of something
like this; it's OTOH true that my knowledge of Hungarian leaves
very much to be desired, so I'd have to ask experts on Hung.

But wouldn't this parallelism suppose some "masculine-big"
relation in Romanian as well? (OTOH, according to the Rum.
dictionary, Rum. linguists tend to assume this etymology,
Lat. mas, maris.)
