It is not "of DEX" but by linguists cited by
the DEX as proposing that etymology.

This is a non-argument. "Zestre" means nothing
in Romanian, zilch. One only knows that this...
weird word is used for that what you call "a
material good." But why don't you ask yourself
how come that they once opted for "dextrae",
in the sense of "vow"? Perhaps the answer will
be that they didn't do that out of the blue,
and they found some connection with some Roman
habit/custom...
