There cannot be any "i" there. See chem/cheamã/chemare. Anyway it is
useless since there is no such word.
But this open the oportunity to ask about something else.
Is is accepted that latin ending "-ia" has given an "-ã" in Rom. (
ex.:cersia > cireaSã) and the /i/ was becoming part of the consonant if
this one was /k/,/g/,/d/,/t/,/s/. If there was not a such consonant then
it should become an /-iã/. However, there is no /-iã/ but an /-ie/
(ex.:familia > femeie)
How do you explain phonologicaly the /-ia/ > /-ie/ at the end of the
word?
