Well, now you are. Goth. ru:ma 'Rome' (< *ru:mo: <-- Lat. ro:ma), ru:mo:neis
'Romans' (< *ru:mo:n- <-- Lat. ro:ma:n-).

I don't think so. In <rumân>, /u/ comes (regularly) from unstressed /o:/,
but Slavic has <rim> (<rym>) where the vowel reflects _stressed_ /o:/.
Germanic accounts for that, but Romanian doesn't.
