irrelevence of race

Why do some still think Indo-European Speakers="Caucasians". I still
come across this way of thinking in books, and it seems many still make
this connection.

Although this is often true, the Mycenaeans, the Hittites, to some extent
the Indo-Aryans and many Iranians don't seem to have been primarily
fair-skinned and necessarily "caucasian", and often seem to have been
somewhat "Near Eastern" in appearance. And many Libyans and Syrians were
fair.

I personally feel that all Indo-European peoples were to some extent
racially mixed, like the rest of the world.
