I am afraid we have to wait to see what a meaning the ukrainean word
has.
The cognate for Albanian "bjeshkë" is Rom. "pajiSte"
for ske= ste is already long time fixed the rule. Interesting should be
here the Rom. "j" and the Alb "sh".
If I am right with some thoughts of mine, the Rom. "j" is the result of
an older "diu". Therefore I would like to see an word like *padiuske
being the word wherefrom the Rom. word derive.
I am sure the Albanian "p" is represented in many cases in Rom. "b" (
see iliryan "pie"= to drink, Thracian "be"= to drink"). I am not sure if
for Rom. "p" is an Albanian "b" but maybe we will find it out.
OK, the question is, how will react the actualy Alb. word "bjeskë"
versus *padiuske or *badiuske ?
If I remember right the intervocalic "d" was lost in albanian so
*badiuske > baiuske. Is there any chanse to get from this *baiuske an
"bjeshke? The words are pretty very alike, it just may be found the
rules.
P.S. I forgot to say that the Rom. word "pajiSte"= cf. DEX from Slavic
paSiSte
