taceo, -ui, -itum, --ere "schweige"

idg. Basis *take:i, in "taceo". Goth. þahan. Zu diesen Neutropassiven
stellt sich als Aktiv air. "tachtaim" "ersticke" ( wenn sek. und
euphemistisch="bringe zum schweigen"; bezweifelt von Feist a.O.) kymr.
"tagu" "erwürge" (Prellwitz Bb.21,162)
Heranziehung auch von Gr. "teku", "takenai",
"dahinschwinden,verschmachten"(Persson bb. 19,262, Wood r 280. Collitz
Schwaches Prät. 80; vgl. "silere": Goth. "anasilan") ist möglich;
dagegen ist Gr."ptessu"(*ptakiu), "ptussu"(*ptuskiu) "ducke mich
furchtsam, verberge mich aus Furcht", , ebenso arm. "t'ak'Cim" (Aor.
t'ak'eay) "ich verberge mich".
It seems the root about Walde-Hoffmann speaks about is *take:i, not
*tkei
