I didn't know that there were many English words written 'bake'.
The one I know has to to with the oven or the sun.

In Finnish I do not recognize "pakku". There is however a
word 'paahtaa' to toast (bread) or barbecue (meat). 'Paahde' is the
heat of the sun or possibly radiation from some other strong heat
source.
