It has <dan> glossed as "aqua", but it's simply the same word as
Ossetic don 'water' < Iranian *da:nu- 'river', with a semantic shift
characteristic of Ossetic, not an independent piece of evidence. The
language of the Jasz was to all intents and purposes a dialect of Ossetic.
