> I am very curious to know the words or examples where reflex of *ai was /e/ in Albanian inherited lexikon. As far as I am aware, exept the word petk < *baita and some of mine etymologies (edh, ethe, eth, river name Erenik). I will be very grateful to you, if you could give much more examples.

Already in pre-Albanian, PIE *a and *o fell together as *a, and the merger affected also the diphthongs containing these vowels (as in Germanic and Balto-Slavic), so that we get

*au, *ou > Proto-Alb. *au > Alb. a
*ai, *oi > Proto-Alb. *ai > Alb. e

*h2aig^- > edh 'kid' and *h2aidH-o- > (h)ethe 'fever' are good enough. One could add *kaid- 'cut' (Lat. caedo:) > Alb. qeth. Because of the merger, the few convincing examples of *ai > e only supplement the more numerous and absolutely secure cases of *oi > e, and can be treated together with them. No need to demand many more as long as no counterexamples have been offered.
