Dan, take a look at Romanian "daltã"= chisel gab
The greek deltos and kypriotish "daltos"=Spaltholz, Sanskrit dalitah=
gespaltet.

Piotr, what about "altoi" = to graft, to engraft? It should be in the
same damily here or the missing of "d" is a big impediment? DEX gives it
as from hungarian "oltvany" meaning=??
