Several place names in Denmark (on Sjælland) are "kong Volmers
<whatever>". But va > vo are common in Danish (and, relating to an
earlier discussion, I don't know what the preconditions for this rule
are. Perhaps it's really wa > wo (and occasionally > o) whereas
a 'va' of higher register of the language stays put (cf. the
distribution in English of v and w between Norman and native words).
ld > ll is standard too.
