If you're trying to make an optative, it would have been
*bHer-o-ih1-me- (thematic). The meaning is perhaps not quite what
David was after: 'may it so happen that we shall bear', more or less,
implying that the realisation of our wish is beyond our control. I'm
not sure what an exact translation should look like.
