I only skimmed it but I didn't see any comparative evidence for it. He
seems to be saying mostly that a derivation of Japanese from known lg
families is not demonstratable without introducing a creole stage. But
that assumes Japanese _is_ derivable from some known language family.
The demographic/migration data is hard for me to judge though.
