I supposes you mean the first "e" is unstressed.

OK, "dominus" has an short /i/ and "serenus" has the second /e/ a long
one.

P.S. I can change my way to express myself too. A cute advice here from
your side should have been " take a look where the stress here is, my
boy", not a such one. You just have to tell me. I can quite my
