I hope you know that all these names, including the above
and Georgeta=Geta, Gheorghe, George, Iorgu, Iorda, Iuga
etc., became Romanian only in the Christian context?
So there can't be the above without St. George (Greek
Giorgios), as there can't be, say, Nitza/Oancea/Oncu/Ene
without St. Ioannes (< Hebr. Yohanan). (By the way, the
variant Nitza in Romanian is quite the same as Nietzsche
in East-German: AFAIK, both influenced by Slavic idioms.)
