He does that very inconsistently (or, rather, arbitrarily), at least
in _Drevnenovgorodkij dialekt_, so it would be unsafe to deduce
something from that.

Probably. At any rate, it's about time we stopped demostrating the
very Slavic doggedness. Let's wait for new information.
