Yes (the actual Latin meaning is 'hip, hipbone'). It was used as the name of various body parts -- especially, I believe, bending ones with bony protrusions. In Indo-Iranian the concrete meaning is something like 'armpit' or 'shoulder', but it may metaphorically mean the flank or side of something (beside meanings like 'recess, interior, the concealed part of ...'). A wide range on meanings, hard to pin down and leaving room for various interpretations. Perhaps <vourukas^a-> should be understood in a more "watery" way -- 'having wide bays' or the like. But there's no doubt as to the formal identity of the elements of the compound.
