No. They are related to the preterite passive participles in -t- and -(e)n- and were originally derived by adding the suffix *-Ije to them (which is why in Proto-Slavic they were initially formed from transitive verbs only).

*bitU 'beaten' --> *bitIje 'beating' (activity)
*pletenU 'intertwined, woven' --> *pletenIje 'intertwining, weaving'
