Second....The lack of an Irish Thunderer. It seems to me that in just about
every different IE pantheon that there is a deity that is associated with
thunder or at the least weather.
Although many associate him with the sun, I would suggest Lugh here. His myths and attributes compare nicely to those of Indra and Thor (with some Irish twists, of course) -- he is related to a figure of Chaos whom he kills with a throwing weapon. This battle is associated with the beginning of the year, and thus the time of creation, as is that of Indra. He is also connected with agriculture. Granted, his name doesn't mean "Thunderer," but then neither does "Indra." I have seen it suggested that "Lugh" does not mean "Shining," from *leuk I believe, because PIE k would not be expected to produce a g in this case, but rather than it means "warrior" (I'm afraid that I don't have an etymology ready for that), which would make it a nice fit with "Indra's" meaning of "Man."
