-õmus is a typo, must be -ómus (I have a strong flu, sorry once
again). -àmus is an older stage of later -ãmus -- Lithuanian has
prolonged stressed short vowels in most positions. It's not certain
whether the contraction -Vmus > Vms took place before or after that
prolongation, so my choice of -ãmus rather than -àmus in the
explanation was rather arbitrary.
