He's a kook all right, and the whole "Turanian Resource Centre" website (www.hunmagyar.org) is a nest of kooks. Their epoch-making discoveries include the derivation of "Turanian" (basically, an arbitrary combination of other people's Uralo-Altaic with "Caucasian", Scythian/Sarmatian and a number of indubitably Iranian languages like Median or Parthian) from Sumerian roots. They also seem to believe that Hungarian is not a Uralic language but an independent branch of "Turanian". It's all too silly to merit discussion. Since the owners of the site prefer to remain anonymous (as far as I've been able to see), God knows whose frustrations or patriotic sentiments underlie this whole Turanian enterprise.
