I have encountered one (nëpërkë) as a child on the hills of
Durrës,
near the coast, central Albania.
It is the most fearsome kind of snake in the country.

It is the only indeed dangeros snake in Europe. But they do
not atack because they have fun to do it:-). Just if only
because of an accident you step on them , then they will
attack, sure. In a normal way, they try to dissappear as soon
as they hears noises
