It sounds a bit scary, and the mysterious behind-the-scenes connection between the JIES editorial board and the Institute for the Study of Man is getting on my nerves. Who the heck is Dr. John V. Day? Where does he work? What has he published, if anything?

Subject: [tied] Indo-European Origins: The Anthropological Evidence

Is anybody aware of the following book:

John V. Day. _Indo-European Origins: The Anthropological Evidence_,

issued in 2001 in the monograph series of the JIES. The author reportedly argues that the Proto-Indo-Europeans were fair-haired blue-eyed brachycephals. Is that true, and if it is, how could such a work be "based on the author's Ph.D. thesis prepared under Professor James Mallory (http://www.utexas.edu/cola/depts/lrc/jies/monographs/monojd-IE-Origins.html)"? What's going on in the Institute for the Study of Man, Washington DC?
