I don't know about the mythical figure, but the other words are all
simply
inherited from Latin.

fe:tum > fetu > fet > fãt
fe:ta > feta > featã > fatã

[Moeller] and in this case I have to make a intern derivation of the
verb[a fãta ] which must comme to from this fetum.


bãrbat (barbatus) and bãtrân (veteranus) have clear Latin etymologies. I
don't
have a Romanian etymological dictionary, but bãiat looks very much like
an
inherited Latin word (valiatus?).

[Moeller] in the romanian etymological dictionary bãiat has an unknown
etymology.I tought about the patern "bã-" in all these words all of them
referring to a person, to a male.
