Modern Greek does not "postpose" its article - the article regularly goes
before the noun. Or are you meaning something else?

The whole concept of a "Dorian invasion" was discredited some 40 years ago,
partly from linguistic evidence! Though there were continuing movements of
peole around Greece for a bit. There never was an "Ionian invasion".

Mycenean probably did not have a definite article - there are no sure
occurrences, and it is often absent where it would be expected in classical
Greek.
