You're not the only one to think along these lines. If you haven't
already seen it (e.g. under 'Aryan Non-Invasion Theory'), see Section
4.3 in http://koenraadelst.bharatvani.org/articles/keaitlin2.htm. It
suggests a deriviation from *eku-/oku- "swift".
