Where was my head? Lat. lunter ~ linter 'trough, washtub > boat, skiff'. I still don't know where <anije> comes from but I'll try to find out.

This is volketymologisch. Sand is not something that fell and was broken. The derivation are:na > Geg ranë/Tosk rërë (f.), on the other hand, is phonologically 100% regular and supported by the perfect identity of meaning.
