Dio Cassius

I am intrigued by the afirmation of Dio Cassius in his 51 book about the
thracians.
There is a passage wehere the gladiators are fighting in two teams and they
are suebi and dacians.
Well, in this passage, Dio describe the both folks.
And he said about thracians to be " this brench of dacian rase who once
inhabited the Rodophinas mountains.)
That make me a bit to look around. I knew, the thracians is the great family
and the dacians a small part of them.
Now Dio say it should be vice versa.
What do i have to understand? Does anyone know something more about such
kind of afirmations from others authors?

An interesting passage is too there where Dio afirm that Dacians are kinda
schytians. That make me thing the old boy waas maybe trunk as he wrot it.
If the thracians are dacians or vice versa, they cannot be scythinas.
But for what he said, we have the roman poet Ovid, who said too,in his the
letters to Crasus, he lerned "The language"
of the dacians AND sarmatians.
So he did not use " the languageS" but the language. What do we have to
understand?
Did the dacians speak the same language as the sarmatians? If so, they are
then iranian folk like all scythians too..
Or did the sarmatians who lived in the neighbourship of the getic population
speak getic language? So far i rememebr Tomis was not in the middle of the
sarmatians but in the middle of getaes..
But .. the yazyges and roxolany were sarmatians. And they were separated by
dacians. This mention is made everywhere.
So, from this one we have to understand, the dacians are not one of them,
scythians i mean..
In the description of the thribes of persian empire and the persian thribes
who left persia for settling in europa we do not find no mention about getci
or dacian thribe. The only one which appear to be likely is the thribe of
"dai". The problem is, nothing from the descriptions of habbits, clothes,
way of life doesnt match to dacians...
Strange problem.. do i make some confusions or i am jost not properly
documented?

Best Regards
