O.Trubachev suggests an Indic etymology for Exampaeus :
a- negative particle
ksama- (s with a dot) - suitable
payas - water, fluid

"unusable water" - a god name for a bitter spring which spoils water in
Hypanis.
BTW this area is called now in Ukrainian 'Mertvovod' - 'Dead Waters'.
