Interestingly enough, there exists a Lith. hydronym (at least one, I
can't check at the moment) <S^eduva`>. I can't think of it's
etymology (no attestation of the root s^ed- in Common Lithuanian, at
least), but the semantics 'going (or even walking, if someone will
insist)' or the like is normal or even trivial for a river's name. On
-uva` derivational model see my message on *ja:twi:s ~ Ja:twa: - it
implies a _verbal_ stem s^ed-.
