Etr. <laut(u)n> means "family", and is generally considered to be
borrowed from or cognate with IE *h1leudh-, as further evidenced by
Etr. <lautni>, <lautna> "freedperson, <libertus>" [Lat. <liber> "free"
is from this same root *h1leudh-].
