Oh, this is nice. Lug-Vali-Apollo. I'd add Indian Rudra "healer but also
disease-bringer, archer, wolves and mice, Northern realms (Hyperborea and
Himalaya). The aspect of Rudra as god of wilderness, forests and beasts
remember more Apollo's sister, Artemis. Lugh is another very complex god,
whose traits are capable of almost endless comparations. Cian's father
Diancecht is also a healer god, that killed his own son. Cecht could be
cognate of Shakti (trait of Rudra-Shiva).

The antithetical partner of Rudra was Vishnu, like Vidar for Vali, and
perhaps Herakles for Apollo. How about Homeric Paian (Myc. pa-ja-wo) ? He
was Apollo or a different god?

Paradoxally, Rudra-Shiva is a combo of an IE "Apollinean" god and a
Dionysiac Pre-IE god.

I propose we start to try to analyzes the complexities of Greek deities. See
next message.
