(0) It is time I learned the Devanagari alphabet.
(1) I suspect that the PIE demonstrative root [k-y] (Greek [ekei],
[(e)keithi] = "there yonder", Anglo-Saxon "he:, he:o, hit", was
actually [H1-k-y], since Greek has the prefixed vowel.
(2) Thank Indra that whoever long ago invented a spelling system to
write the Indian Vedas down in, decided to routinely represent vowel
length and pitch accent. I don't know of any other ancient spelling
system that was that detailed and accurate.
