My only objection to this alternate etymology is that Old
Egyptian /r`/ sounded rather like [ri:`a:] in Middle Egyptian, hence
Coptic [re:]. (Miguel will correct me if I'm wrong). This should end
up as Slavic **re^- or **rja- > Polish **Ra- (in favour of your
theory) or **Rza- (against).
