There are some positive sides of extremely democratic and virtually unmoderated lists like this one, and I wouldn't unsubscribe anybody just because of his or her unorthodox views. But there are times when Cybalist resembles Hyde Park's Speakers' Corner and then I miss those early days when Glen Gordon was our most eccentric member.

I would not be surprised if you included me on the speaker's platform at Hyde Park but I also enjoy the democracy of the list.

And though I often do not agree with Glen either, occasionally he makes an interesting point which validates the procedures of the list.

You, on the other hand, are an important resource of uptodate IE theory, and I am glad you have not despaired of contributing --- not to say that I always agree with all of your pronouncements.

On another list, recently, I was de-subscribed for criticizing Bomhard's methods in reconstructing Nostratic. By pointing out foolishness, I was accused of calling him a "fool". A very hard line to draw, perhaps.

Pat
