Assuwa was a confederation of west Anatolian city-states opposed to
Hittite rule and headed by Arduqqa, which I believe was bronze age
Sardis. Originally, Asia was a general region the Greeks recognized
as western Anatolia, which included roughly the ancient kingdom of
Lydia. Yes, Asia was derived from Assuwa.
