Fairly close, but not uniquely close. For example, Avestan tas^- means virtually the same as Old Indian taks.- and the Baltic/Slavic verbs I mentioned remain even more specifically connected with woodworking.

contrast with the semant. and phonetic distances apparent in most IE
languages, R.gvedic taks. is semant. closest to the likely root:
