The words so affected seem to belong to various semantic fields, e.g. obywatel 'citizen' for expected *obywaciel (-ciel < -*tel- occurs in many other words), wesele 'joy; wedding-party' and wesol/y 'merry' for older wiesiele, wiesiol/y. Also some grammatical words, e.g. bez 'without' (Old Polish biez). I'm not sure about the details of that linguistic fashion. I'll see what the literature says.

Any particular reason why this particular word (this particular semantic sphere) was influenced? e.g. Czech poetry? Religion? Perhaps the adjectives were borrowed and then influenced the noun?
